Our Swim Club Profile

Founded in 2013, the Legon Swim Club (LSC) also known as Legon Sharks is a member of the Ghana Swimming Association (GSA). LSC is a high-performing public swimming club based at the University of Ghana, Legon which is run by parents and volunteers with club executives guided by a club constitution.

Training sessions are run 5 days a week at a 6-lane 50-metre swimming pool located at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate. Our professional coaches work with swimmers of all abilities and swimming age groups to help them harness their full potentials and be prepared for competitions at club, national and international levels.

The club promotes structured training, discipline and teamwork among swimmers. Parental involvement in all activities is very important to the club. We have a coaching philosophy based on recognition of different swimmer capabilities and respect for diversity and inclusion.

To become a parent-run club of choice that promotes excellence in swimming and swimming related sports to produce world class swimmers in a fun environment. We seek to achieve this by democratizing swimming, winning sports laurels and attaining sterling academic honors.

Our Achievements

Ranked as one of the second most competitive clubs in Ghana, the Legon Swim Club has over the past 10 years achieved notable laurels. We recently won the National Swim Meet competition organised by GSA in December 2022.

Scholarship Programme

As part of our corporate social responsibility, we run a scholarship programme where swimmers from less privileged homes with budding talent are fully funded and supported by the club to fulfil both their swimming and educational goals.
